The Art of Defining Curls – Secrets to Beautiful Curls

Does your hair frizz, refuse to cooperate, and curl slightly at the ends? You might have curly hair without even knowing it! How to find out? Let us explain!
What do you need?
You don’t have to spend a fortune on specialized products or treatments. A simple shampoo, conditioner, and a cotton towel (or T-shirt) will do. A gel or styling cream can also come in handy.
Steps to follow:
- Wash your hair as you normally would. Then, bend your head down and squeeze out the excess water. At this stage, you can detangle wet hair with a wide-toothed comb.
- Apply a leave-in conditioner by scrunching it into your hair towards the scalp. At this point, curls should start to form.
- Use a styling product. This could be a regular gel or a specialized styling cream, depending on what you have. Remember not to use too much product, as it might make your hair sticky!
- Dry your hair. If you have a hairdryer with a diffuser, use it on a cool setting while keeping your head down. No diffuser? No problem! Use a cotton T-shirt or towel to remove excess water. Scrunch your hair the same way as with the conditioner.
- Do not brush your hair after drying! Brushing will make it frizzy and ruin your curls, leaving only unruly strands.
Tips for success:
Don’t worry if your first attempt isn’t perfect. With time, you’ll get better at it, and your hair will become more receptive to styling. Even if not all strands curl evenly, it’s a good sign! It means your hair wants to curl and needs a little extra care. Invest in products designed for curly hair and keep practicing.
Good luck!
